1996:	Tavistock Group buys the Lake Nona Development.
2003:	Tavistock Group decides to create a cluster for bioscience companies.
2006:	University of Central Florida gets approval from state board of governors to build medical school. Burnham Institute for Medical Research announces it will open an East Coast research facility at Lake Nona.
2007:	Nemours announces it has selected Lake Nona as the site for its children’s hospital. Veterans Affairs announces it has chosen Lake Nona as the site for its new Orlando VA Medical Center
2009:	Burnham Institute officially opens. M.D. Anderson Orlando Cancer Research Institute opens 30,000-square-foot facility inside the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences Building.
2010:	Burnham Institute renames facility the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute to honor $50 million donation by philanthropist Denny Sanford. University of Central Florida College of Medicine opens building to students.
2012	(Scheduled) University of Florida Research and Academic Center to open. Valencia College campus to open. Nemours children’s Hospital to open. VA Medical Center to open initial phases (rescheduled 2013)
